Buy a Softball glove. Softball requires gloves that are slightly longer in length and deeper in the pocket than baseball gloves. Youth gloves are smaller to help kids maintain control. Buy the correct size, not one they will "grow into." Leather gloves are preferred material.
Softball and baseball cleats have a toe cleat. This helps the player have better traction. Soccer cleats do not have the toe cleat but will be suffiient to play with.
Be careful when purchasing a bat. Ensure there is a ASA certified stamp on the barrel. Softball bats are different from baseball bats.
